After an absolutely scrumptious Christmas dinner, President Ted Swenson called our meeting to order.
The Secretary, Linda Carney, gave a rapid and short recap of the November minutes. She stated that they have been published on the IEBA website. The minutes were accepted as read and published.
Then, Treasurer Julie Watts presented her report. We have $5098.94 in checking and $11,963.55 in savings. Her report was accepted as presented.

Old Business-
Bill Watts is the chairman for the County Code Revisions. He assured the members that Commissioner Mark Richards is behind the beekeepers being able to keep bees in the county. Bill went into detail on some of the proposed articles. Dr. Steve Sheppard said he will endorse the code when it is completed. Bill will meet with the planning department on Monday.
Volunteers were needed to assist in coordinating with the county for the new county rules, thus, forming a “County Code Committee”. The volunteers are:

New Business
Dale Edward, Joy in Beekeeping, told us it is time to send in recommendations for the recipient of the $250.00 grant to one of our members. Please e-mail the recommendations or submit a letter to him at the next meeting, January 14, 2011.
Previous recipients were ’04 Jack Knox, ’05 Frank Seiler, ’06 Jim Miller, ’07 Jerry Miller, ’08 Linda Carney, ’09 Joan Nolan, & ’10 John Pierce
Dale Edwards 3 year term has been completed and he needs a replacement. Kelly McSheehy volunteered to take the place of Dale Edwards. Sandy Martello is moving and needed a replacement for the balance of her two year term. Lisa Huston volunteered to take Sandy’s position.
Joan Nolan suggested reserving Sullivan Park now for the annual Picnic meeting in August. Therefore, * a motion was made and passed to authorize Joan Nolan to spend up to $200 for reservation fees, deposits, and damage fees for Sullivan Park in August.
DAH DAH DAH !!!
We had the election of officers this month. Several new members have been elected to office and volunteered for others. Here are the new positions:
President: Linda Carney
Vice-President: Scott Weston
Treasurer: Julie Watts
Secretary: Chris Taylor & Sami Pateras (co-secretaries)
Joy in Beekeeping: Kelly McSheehy ( 3 year term)
Lisa Huston (completing Sandy Martello’s 2 yr balance)
President Swenson adjourned our last meeting of 2010. See ya next year!
